“Miss you Already” is one of the actress' last films. A film about the lifelong friendship between two women in difficult times. A female director, Catherine Hardwicke, a female author and female actresses — a change in the film scene that Drew Barrymore also finds very interesting. She was our guest in a celebrity interview.

“I've acted in accordance with the principle of 'do what is necessary” —without harming anyone. ”

Why did you want to make this movie?
I found the story about the importance of love in our lives beautiful. Because that's what life is about. I thought this was a story that my two daughters should definitely see. A film about and made by women. He spoke to me on every level. He was so emotional. It was about everything we go through in life, all in one fell swoop.

You've been in business for a very long time — how does it feel to you that women are now getting so much attention?
It is great. I had just had my beautiful daughter Frankie when I made this movie. I am a mother of two girls and this story is about the lifelong friendship between two women. And both the author and the director are female. For the first time, I was so moved by the theme of women, femininity, girls and the point of view of this film. That really affected me. This whole universe collapsed and was made up of only women.

But the fees are still a long way from those of male colleagues...
Yes, and that is incredibly sad, and we must do everything we can to get there at some point.

What can you do?
The answer isn't easy. Very complicated, actually. But it should be just as easy. Do what's necessary. I've acted on the principle of 'do what is necessary all my life and have never betrayed anyone in the process. That is what you have to do.

Did the movie remind you of your relationship with your best friend? Or do you wish you had such a girlfriend?
I'm really happy when people say 'I called my best friend first after the movie. ' Yesterday I heard that the definition of success is relief. I'm relieved every time someone says that. And excited.

Drew Barrymore Interview Miss You Already

This movie is very tragic. Has breast cancer ever been an issue in your environment?
Yes I know a few people affected, they are among the people I love the most. I dedicate the film to my mother-in-law and business partner, Nancy Juvonen, she is my heroine. They both lost their mothers to breast cancer. And they both told me that this is really the way to live. It is a very lengthy process. There is humor, frustration, exhaustion, and also care, selflessness and self-abandonment for the other person. That was very important to me. In fact, it meant everything. Sometimes I have the feeling that all you can do in a movie is try to portray it correctly — sometimes a film like this doesn't capture reality, not even the quiet moments. Because you try to pack everything into a movie. Like an everyday mix.

The film contains a lot of life, friendship and experience that this group of people share with each other in a short period of time. Sometimes he finds a balance between reality, humor, peace and the strength he has within him and time, experience, and faith. You feel like you're spending a lifetime with these people.

What is life?
It is short. That's it. And you only become aware of that once you pause to go within yourself, to really be there and to love more.
