With constantly well-intentioned (but rarely achieved) plans for life changes, things can get confusing and lose meaning. We haven't done anything about it before we know it. Considering the current summer, there's no better time to focus and get what we want out of life.

Basically, there is certainly no better time than summer to make changes to improve your life. The sun has already boosted our vitamin D levels and when we feel good, it's easier for us to do more things that make us feel good. But what changes will improve your life this time of year? The following list is here to motivate and inspire you.

1. Find out your work-life balance

With increased work demands and smaller workforces, it's no surprise that our work-life balance is out of sync. Whether you're self-employed or employed, it's likely that you're suffering without even realizing it. They must take responsibility for change. Create a planner that makes sure you enjoy breaks, go home at a specific time, say no to extra work and ensure you're spending valuable time doing what you love — alone or with loved ones.

2. Don't neglect your physical health.

There is no better time to focus on your physical wellbeing than when the sun is shining, your vitamin D levels recharge and providing us with feel-good vibes. Mother Nature is the best place to work out when the weather is nice — take walks with your dogs, enjoy outdoor yoga and do water sports. You can even work out in an outdoor Holmes Place club for a better-guided workout full of fresh air.

3. Sort out your head.

Never underestimate your emotional wellbeing. The demands of life can take their toll with depression, anxiety, and stress, leaving us feeling physically weakened. There is no better way to create Zen within than by practicing meditation and yoga. Take yoga classes or expand your sessions either at your local club or at home. Never stop talking — talk to others about your feelings to prevent them from getting out of control and stressing you out even more.

4. Eat a wholesome and balanced diet.

Summer means bringing a rich supply of fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds from the earth — so take advantage of that. Is your diet balanced? Die Mediterranean diet is considered to be the healthiest, with more and more people eating this way and living to 100 years of age. As long as you eat well most of the time, a little indulgence can be enjoyed in moderation.

5. Live life to the fullest

Get over your inhibition — those nagging worries in the back of your mind — and do what you want. Whether it's learning how to swim, book your dream vacation or finally open a cat boarding house in Greece — get out there and do it.

6. Take time for yourself

Oh, you'd forgotten yourself, didn't you? The most important person who runs after everyone else and makes things run like clockwork. Well, pause for a moment and focus on who you really are. You're not just a parent, partner, grandparent—you're you. Take time to relax, treat yourself wellness and spa treatments, read, go on trips alone, meet people and realize how important you really are.

7. Go on adventures

There is so much we want to do in life. Even before we know it, we're middle-aged and haven't ticked off many of our to-do fields. Because life, work and family dominate and we forget that our inner child jumps up and down and reminds us what it's like to play in the mud, search for food in the forest and listen to the sea through a shell. Now is the time to implement your plans. Regardless of whether you want to explore the islands of the South China Sea, or cross the cycle paths to Alpe d'Heuz. Get out there, enjoy your adventures, and make these changes to improve your life this time of year.
