When we talk about the Importance of training When we think about it, many common, positive effects come to mind, such as the benefits for cardiovascular health, diabetes, weight control, osteoporosis, among others.

Since many occupations require the use of certain physical abilities, a connection between work and movement can easily be established. When a person is fit, they will be able to do more tasks that are physically demanding, such as carrying loads, or work longer and harder without taking many breaks. In today's working world, most jobs require less and almost no physical input at all. In this reality, there is almost no connection between fitness and productivity.

Over the last decade, scientists have collected solid evidence that Regular exercise certainly has an effect on our way of thinking. Research has shown that Training has immediate benefits for our cognitive performance (1) and where else has improved concentration, quick comprehension, lower stress levels and increased creativity more important than at work. Research shows that the way our brain processes information goes hand in hand with the body's level of physical activity, and — even more importantly — it also proves that physical activity effectively changes the brain — both on a morphological and functional level. (2)

A Cambridge University study has shown that around half a million people in the UK suffer from work-related stress, enough to the point that it makes them ill. (3) Although there are many other methods of stress management, such as prioritizing projects, better organisation and the ability to say no, sport is at the top of the list.

When you exercise, the body releases endorphins, which, among other things, reduce stress levels. When you're less stressed, you can better manage social interactions with colleagues, employees, or customers. You are less irritable, have better mental concentration and also set priorities better because you can simply think more clearly.

What still prevents us from working out more or more regularly? For many of us, the answer is clear: we don't have time. But let's be clear: What we're actually trying to say is that we don't regard training as a priority for the time we have left.

This is why research on the cognitive benefits of exercise is so important. Through movement, we are more receptive, can work more efficiently and are more productive.
Instead of seeing sport as something that keeps us from working, we should start seeing physical activity as an integral part of our work. If we don't, we process the information we have received more slowly, are more forgetful, frustrated more often, work less effectively and the quality of communication with our colleagues decreases.

How do you successfully integrate training into your daily routine?

Choose a physical activity that suits you. If we regard training as something that we enjoy, then we are more likely to complete our sports program and can enjoy the benefits of it.
Be part of a group, not a collective. Establishing social contacts during training motivates us to stay on track and is fun!
