The first thing you see when you look in the mirror is your skin. Summer is finally here, so it's time for our tips on what you should pay particular attention to when taking care of your skin during this warm season.

The skin is the largest organ in the human body. It protects it from external influences and regulates water balance and body temperature. After the cold winter days, it is advisable to use spring to regenerate the skin and prepare it for summer with a moisturizer.

Start with the basics, normal skin cleansing, and choose a moisturizing lotion that meets your skin's needs.

What else?

sustenance. The components of your daily diet determine the health of your skin.

Try healthy fats, e.g. in avocados, olive oil and (unsalted) nuts, into your diet. They contain anti-inflammatory properties and vitamin E, which protects the skin from oxidation. Fish is also your skin's friend, as salmon and mackerel supply the body with essential omega-3 fatty acids.

If you are prone to allergic reactions, such as reddening, swelling and itching, you should pamper your skin with extra care. Wholegrain cereals and brewer's yeast are good allies when it comes to preventing skin irritation and dryness. These ingredients provide complex B vitamins. In contrast to processed types, whole grains help to keep the glycemic index stable and prevent bouts of fatigue.

Vitamin C also plays an important role in skin health. It contains collagen and is an indirect moisturizer. You can find it in many natural foods, such as citrus fruits, cabbage, broccoli, tomatoes, and peppers. These vegetables also provide the body with many important minerals.

Spices such as turmeric, which is found in most curry dishes, contain antioxidants and have a protective effect against UV rays. If you haven't used turmeric before, you should add it to your dishes. In combination with black pepper and olive oil, it is particularly well absorbed by the body. There are also many different teas with calming and antiseptic effects to alleviate skin irritations. Chamomile, thyme and lavender are particularly suitable.

Always remember that the foods you eat every day are the key to your health.
