Warm oats with seeds and nuts Holmes Place

Porridge - warm oats

ingredients

  • 3/4 cup oats
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp. goji berries
  • 2 cups filtered water
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 2-4 tablespoons of soaked chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp. ground flaxseeds
  • nut milk
  • fresh raspberries, strawberries and blueberries

Preparation

Mix 1/4 cup of chia seeds and a cup of nut milk in a bowl or in a screwable container. To ensure that the chia seeds are well distributed, stir the mixture thoroughly. Let sit for 20 minutes, stir again and refrigerate, sealed.

In a small pot, combine oats, cinnamon, goji berries, water and salt and let these ingredients soak, covered, overnight (or for 8-12 hours). The next morning, bring the oatflake mixture to a boil over high heat while stirring. Then cover, lower the heat and simmer for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Now add the blueberries and let the mixture cook for another minute until the blueberries are well warmed up. Remove the pot from the heat and stir in 2 tablespoons of chia seeds. Divide the mixture into two bowls and add 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseeds, any amount of nut milk, and fresh berries to each.
