Detox - simply feel better
“Detox on the quick”, "Detox Delight" and "Detox in the City": detox activities and treatments are very much in demand.
Behind these detox treatments there is the idea that it is not just eating too much, drinking alcohol and smoking that make people overweight and ill – that we also take in traces of different chemicals. Detox enthusiasts believe these elements are deposited in the body as slurry. However, experts think the concept is humbug.
Doing a detox means giving up high-acid foods for a few days. These foods and substances include meat, cheese, white flour, sweet things, alcohol, nicotine and coffee. Before starting you have to clear the intestines, with two days of eating fruit and vegetables and / or drinking raw fruit and vegetable juice. Massages, body exfoliation and bathing round off the treatment. Sauna, yoga and Pilates are also recommended to complete full body and mind detox.
A full recommendation of detox process:
6.30 a.m. – start off with warm water and lemon
Start the day with warm water and the juice of half a lemon. This should kick off the metabolism and stimulate the kidneys and liver.
7.00 a.m. – yoga to get you moving for the day
Yoga should get the blood surging. This stimulates lymphatic circulation and starts off the detoxing.
8.15 a.m. – smoothie for energy
Build up energy with a smoothie made of baby spinach or rocket, half a cucumber, a stick of celery, half a green apple, ginger, fresh herbs, flaxseeds, a teaspoon of pea protein and water.
9.00 a.m. – drink plenty of water for the kidneys
You should drink a total of two litres of water during the day. This should help to eliminate water-soluble toxins.
11.00 a.m. – protection from green tea
Based on the instructions, you should drink up to four cups of green tea per day because it is rich in antioxidants, which protect the body from free radicals.
Midday – health-promoting acids
Try kefir or sauerkraut because lactic acid bacteria strengthen the immune system and jolt the digestion into action.
12.30 p.m. – nutrient-rich salad
For lunch, eat a green salad with red, yellow and orange vegetables. It will give your body those nutrients that it requires for the intended detoxification.
3.00 p.m. – sweating treatment for health
30 minutes in the infrared cabin should help you burn off a handsome number of 600 calories a day. Allegedly, the infrared rays eat into the soluble fat deposits in the body.
6.00 p.m. – soup instead schnitzel
For dinner, have a vegetable soup with herbs and olive oil.
9.30 p.m. – finally, relaxation and off to bed
Relax in the bath and then lights out. Detox processes should be the best way to encourage sleep.
